Wainuiomata Primary School's Enviro Group is dedicated to delivering a holistic, hands-on learning experience for our students. From working in our school gardens to engaging in community projects.

We explore concepts in Te Ao Mārama where students learn to connect human behaviours to our impact on the natural world and discover ways to incorporate sustainable practices at school and in the wider community.

If you would like to Support our enviro group please message Kahlia: kahliah@wainuiomata.school.nz

Projects we have worked on include:

  • Senior classes spent a day working on our stream restoration project along Wainuiomata River.
  • Building a Monarch Sanctuary.
  • Fundraising to support our enviro group.
  • Our students worked together to build the new jump track.
  • Planting seedlings.
  • Classes competed to see who could collect the most acorns!
  • Room 1 students stewing left over apples for breakfast club.
